We had a great 2010 in Oceanside, had some great visitors and some nice laughs. Most of the laughs were at my family’s expense but once in a while we were able to gang up on other innocent bystanders. I love to laugh through life.
We were very lucky this year. As we (Chuck, Rachael, Carly and myself) were able to go back to NY twice in 2010, once in February and again in July. Nick couldn’t go as he decided to go to Mexico for the summer to save Sea Turtles and collect their eggs for research. The turtles had other plans and never showed up in the 6 weeks he was there. Non the less, Nick was able to survive in grand old Mexico and learned the fine art of ignoring people while he was there.
Rachael is in her 2nd year of college working on her goal of becoming a nurse. She still works at the YMCA as a lifeguard and also nanny sits for a lady a couple times a week. She decided to get her own apartment with all her new found money. Easy come, easy go.
Carly is now 13 and is in 8th grade. She and I went white water rafting in May with her Girl Scout troop. It really was pretty amazing and we hope to be able to do it again next year.
We finally had some family pictures taken after Rachael complained we did not have any. A friend of mine took them on December 5, 2010 while most of you were buried enjoying the winterwonderland. For the record, nobody cried.
